Technical Diving

Technical Diving

Sydney is one of the best locations in the world to train and become a Technical Diver and is home to an established and ever-growing community of Tech divers of all levels.  There are an abundance of fascinating wrecks and reefs in the 40m+ region that are all located under an hour from the coast- in fact if you dived a different wreck every month in the 45-55m range you would be occupied for almost three years!  The temperate Sydney water is also ideal for challenging yet accessible training that will set you up to be a capable and confident Technical diver able to safely decompression dive all over the world.

Depending on your interest level in technical diving, the PADI TecRec program challenges you with five diver level courses: Tec 40, Tec 45, Tec 50, Tec Trimix and Tec Trimix 65.  Each course uses a mixture of theory, field-drills, shallow and deep water practice to gradually build up your skills and capacity as a Tech diver, with depth and complexity increasing as you grow in confidence.  Eventually, with enough experience and training you could experience something like this, right here in Sydney.

PADI TecRec courses give you the techniques and procedures required for diving beyond the recreational limits. But remember: technical diving isn’t for everyone. If you embrace adrenaline-pumping challenges and are willing to accept the risks, responsibilities and obligations, you’ll find TecRec to be one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have in diving.
