Meet the team

Richard Nicholls

PADI Course Director, Technical Instructor Trainer and one of the creators of the Cabbage Tree Bay aquatic reserve Richard has been and continues to be all things Scuba Diving in Sydney and Australia.

He has owned and run Dive Centre Manly for over 26 years and having dived all over the world he continues to be passionate about bringing people into the underwater world.

Janet Clough

Bossman’s Boss (Owner)

When I emigrated to Australia in 1990 learning to dive was first on the list of things to do, up to that point snorkeling in the Isle of Man was as exciting as it got.  Little did I know that my Diving Instructor would become my life buddy and I would own a dive shop with him.

My own career outside diving has for the most part restricted my diving to weekends and holidays, but I am fast approaching dive #2000 (and yes I have every dive logged).

Early morning dives at Shelly Beach in Manly, still rank right up there with the very best and I try and get at least one in a week.

Steve Ho

Assistant Manager & Technical Manager
My role encompasses teaching Technical diving, GUE courses and equipment servicing, alongside general organisation of the dive centre.  I can help particularly with advanced dive training, equipment advice and repairs.
My passion is deep diving and for me I’m in it for the adventure and the challenge as well as the satisfaction of seeing my students set high standards for themselves, develop and achieve their goals.

Ana Poulalion

Senior Instructor

As soon as I started diving I instantly feel in love with it and became an instructor a year later. I’m passionate about marine life and particularly about sharks, the reason I started diving was to observe sharks in their environment. Now I get to do what I love every day and I teach all courses from Open Water to Divemaster, including my favourite, the Shark Awareness Specialty Course.

I’m also in charge of our Scuba Groms program which is for 12 to 18 year old young divers.

Rosie Leaney

Underwater Photography Instructor / Divemaster

Rosie has been a Divemaster at DCM, as well as photographing underwater, since 2009.  She has been awarded in some prestigious global underwater photography competitions including being winner of the 2018 UN World Oceans Day Photo Competition.  She has also had her photos and articles published in some of the worlds best dive magazines.  Rosie loves showing off our local marine life and helping others to get off to a great start in their underwater photography.

Michael Gavaghan

Dive Instructor

I got into diving to get over my fear of the ocean, now I love traveling the World and exploring coral reefs.  I conduct diving courses, guided dives and discover dives at Dive Centre Manly.

Genny Herbert

From my Open water in India, to my Advanced on the Great Barrier Reef all the way up to my Divemaster in Indonesia, I became a lover of the underwater creatures and an enthusiastic preserver of the ocean.

Originally from Canada, I now live here in Manly and I am so fortunate to get to guide people scuba diving and snorkeling in this beautiful place.
