Montague Island, Narooma
Montague Island has twice been voted Tourism Australia’s top eco-tourism destination and gained membership of NSW Tourism’s Hall of Fame in 2008 for winning three consecutive ecotourism awards.
The island is home to the largest fur seal colony on the NSW coast and is a breeding ground for around 15 bird species – while dolphins, whales and endangered grey nurse sharks can all be seen at various times of year.
Most of the seals are at a depth of 3 – 15m, which provides a great dive experience for all dive levels.
We head out on the boat to dive Montague Island on Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning.
After a 25 minute boat ride we will arrive at the island where the seals can be found. Between the dives you will have the chance to warm up with hot soup before jumping in for the second dive.
